Ridge CampGROUND - PlayGround PROJECT
The Friends of Cook Forest have taken on a new project - replacing the aging playground equipment at Ridge Campground. Plans include a new play structure with canopies, several swings for youth, infants and special needs campers, additional playground equipment such as a tire swing, spring rides, cozy dome, etc. The playground will meet ADA requirements. You can help us achieve our goal with your donation or sponsorship of an additional piece of equipment (please contact us here for more information on sponsoring a piece of equipment). We thank you for your support.
Make your check/money order for this project payable to Pa Parks & Forest Foundation with "Friends of Cook Forest/Ridge Camp Playground" on the memo line and mail to: Friends of Cook Forest PO Box 31 Cooksburg, PA 16217 |
Crossing One Bridge at a time
The Longfellow Trail to the Forest Cathedral is one of Cook Forest State Park's iconic features and the bridges covering Tom's Run take thousands of visitors each year across the stream. Now the bridge at Pavilion #1 has been closed due to rust pockets eroding the steel i-beams that support the structure. It must be replaced. Other bridges over this stream will suffer the same fate and must also be replaced.
You may donate online here. If you would prefer to mail a check/money order for this project, please make payable to PPFF with "bridge replacement project" on the memo line and mail to: Friends of Cook Forest PO Box 31 Cooksburg, PA 16217 |
Memorial Donations/Honorariums…
There is no better way to honor a loved one, or mark a special occasion than to make a gift to a place they held/hold dear.
Memorial donations keep the memory of those who enjoyed Cook Forest State Park alive by allowing us to continue preserving the park. Honorariums remind loved ones every day that they are helping preserve the park for future generations.
All donations are used to further the Friends of Cook Forest mission to support the park's many needs in areas of preservation, education, interpretation and maintenance. Be assured that your donation will be put to good use in the park.
Download the Memorial Donation/Honorarium form print, complete, and mail to the address above. While we are not able to place memorial/honorarium markers, we will note your special gift in our newsletter.
