Adopt a HighwaY - thanks!
Thank you to those who joined the Friends for the first Adopt-A-Highway litter pick-up on October 19, 2019 of our newly adopted 2 mile section of Forest Road. If you missed this volunteer opportunity, look for another litter pick-up in the spring. The Friends plan to clear their section of Forest Road twice a year-in spring and fall. Watch our website, Facebook and enews for upcoming dates/times. |

In June we hosted our Annual Fundraiser, Forest Fest, with a bake sale, raffle basket drawings, 50/50 and an educational program "The Owls of Pennsylvania" (complete with owl mounts!) presented by Cook Forest State Park Environmental Educational Specialist, Dale Luthringer. Dale also engaged the group in making owl calls. A showing of the Cathedral: The Fight to Save the Ancient Hemlocks of Cook Forest was shown in the evening. Deer Meadows Campground hosted the event.
Please check back for other upcoming events including guided hikes and work days that can really help our State Park!
